Signature Railbookers rail and fjord adventure across Norway from Oslo

Railbookers operates this 10-day, 9-night rail vacation that begins and ends in Oslo, described by the operator as independent with included excursions and rated active and adventurous. Day 2 rides the Flåmsbana, often voted the world's most scenic train journey, from Myrdal to the village of Flam, where a 5-course tasting menu dinner is included. Day 3 cruises the Aurlandsfjord into the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord before a train on to Bergen, the base for day trips to Hardangerfjord's Vøringsfossen waterfall and a Sognefjord cruise. A coastal cruise then carries travelers from Bergen to Stavanger, where day 7 combines a Lysefjord cruise with a moderate, two-hour hike up to Pulpit Rock, walking boots recommended. A scenic train returns to Oslo for two final nights, with a hop-on, hop-off pass to explore landmarks including the Holmenkollen Ski Jump and the Vigeland Sculpture Park. It suits active travelers who want Norway's fjords and trains covered in one route rather than a single city stay.
Welcome to Norway! Head to your hotel on arrival, and once checked in head out and familiarize yourself with Oslo.
After breakfast make your way to the station for an early train to Myrdal, then change onto the world famous Flåmsbana, often voted the world's most scenic train journey. Once you've reached the village of Flam check-in at your hotel, and prepare for dinner.
This morning depart Flam via the picturesque Aurlandsfjord then into the UNESCO World Heritage listed Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in the world. Transfer onto a bus and enjoy the winding bends of the Stalheimskleiva to a lookout point above the Stalheimsfossen and Sivlefossen waterfalls, then continue to Voss for your onward train journey to Bergen.
Following a scenic train ride to Voss, take a dramatic cruise to the charming village of Eidfjord. From here it's a wonderful bus ride to the vast Vøringsfossen – Norway's largest waterfall. Return to Eidfjord and enjoy another breath-taking cruise along Hardangerfjord to Norheimsund, for a bus ride back to Bergen.
Take a leisurely cruise along Norway's largest fjord - Sognefjord back to Flam. Pass by some towering waterfalls, and picturesque villages, then from Flam enjoy another ride on the Flåmsbana line to Myrdal, then on to Bergen.
Take a stroll through Bryggen – the city's historic harbour district, then make your way to the ferry terminal for your cruise along the Norwegian coast to Stavanger.
Enjoy a silent cruise along the beautiful Lysefjord, passing Pulpit Rock, then a short bus ride to the Preikestolen Cabin. Hike the well-marked, moderate trail up to Pulpit Rock itself, around two-hours each way. Return to Stavanger by bus via the world's longest underwater tunnel.
Today you can rest your legs with a scenic train ride across Norway. Depart Stavanger in the late morning and once you have arrived in Oslo make your way to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Enjoy the freedom to explore Oslo at your own pace with your included hop-on, hop-off sightseeing pass. Take in the city's most famous landmarks, such as the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Fram Museum, and the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History.
