Bergen to Oslo escorted rail tour on six named Norwegian railways

PTG Tours' Stunning Railways of Norway is a 10-day, 9-night escorted tour led by Tour Manager Andrea, running from Bergen to Oslo. The trip opens with two nights in Bergen, including a ride on the Old Voss Steam Railway behind an authentic 1913 locomotive, before the Bergen Railway and Flam Railway carry travellers from Myrdal down to Flam, a descent of nearly 4,000 feet in 16 miles. Day 4 crosses the Hardangervidda plateau on the way to Hamar, reaching 1,222 metres at Finse station, the route's highest point, and Day 5 continues on the Roros Railway to Trondheim along the Glomma River. After a free day in Trondheim, the Rauma Railway crosses the Kylling bridge past Trollveggen, Europe's highest perpendicular mountain wall, before the Dovre Railway finishes the journey in Oslo for two nights at leisure. With six named railways, en-suite hotels, and breakfast and dinner included, the tour suits history lovers and photographers drawn to Norway's scenic rail lines.
