Paris and the Normandy D-Day beaches by rail to Basel

Railbookers operates this 5-day, 4-night independent rail vacation that begins in Paris and ends in Basel, described in the evidence as the start of a Rhine River Cruise adventure. Day 1 begins with an airport transfer into Paris for a two-night stay, followed by day 2's small-group trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower, a Seine river cruise, and a visit to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa. On day 3, the train carries travelers to Bayeux, a town the itinerary describes as having a medieval heart of cobbled streets and half-timber houses, for a two-night stay. Day 4 is an eight-hour guided tour of D-Day sites, including Pointe du Hoc, Utah Beach, and Omaha Beach. On day 5, the train returns to Paris before a direct high-speed train onward to Basel. This trip suits travelers heading into a river cruise from Basel who want Paris sightseeing paired with a full day at the Normandy landing beaches first.
Welcome to Paris! On arrival at the airport, you will be met by a driver and delivered safely to your central hotel for a two-night stay. Once settled head out to enjoy the city - perhaps a stroll along the Champs Elysee then dinner in one of the cosy restaurants dotted around the pretty Montmartre neighbourhood.
In the morning head over to the Eiffel Tower for a small group trip to the top. Once you have made your way back down hop onto a cruise boat and enjoy the beautiful bridges along the river Seine. Then, make your way over to the iconic Louvre Museum to meet the Mona Lisa and many other world-class masterpieces.
Following breakfast at your hotel make your way to the station for the train ride to Bayeux where you will spend the following two-nights. The town's medieval heart of cobbled streets and half-timber houses is a beautiful place to unwind with numerous traditional cafes and restaurants to enjoy some local delicacies. A Calvados nightcap in this part of the world is a must!
Meet your guide and small group this morning for a day which will live long in your memory. During the next eight hours you will visit some of the most hallowed D-Day sites such as Pointe du Hoc, Utah Beach, and Omaha Beach all while being guided by a knowledgeable guide who is on hand to answer any questions.
Make your way to the station for your train back to Paris where again you will be met by a driver who will ensure you make it to Gare de Lyon safely for a direct highspeed train to Basel.
