Basel to Paris and the Normandy D-Day beaches by rail

Railbookers operates this 5-day, 4-night independent rail vacation that starts in Basel and ends in Paris, described in the evidence as a river cruise add-on for travelers finishing a cruise in Basel. Day 1 is a train ride from Basel to Paris, with a driver transfer to a central hotel for a two-night stay. Day 2 brings a small-group trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower, a Seine river cruise, and a visit to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa. On day 3, the train continues to Bayeux, a town the itinerary describes as having a medieval heart of cobbled streets and half-timber houses, for a two-night stay. Day 4 is an eight-hour guided tour of D-Day sites, including Pointe du Hoc, Utah Beach, and Omaha Beach, before the train returns to Paris on day 5. This trip suits travelers already in the region after a river cruise who want Paris sightseeing paired with a full day at the Normandy landing beaches.
Enjoy the scenery onboard the train from Basel to Paris, where you will be met by a driver and delivered safely to your central hotel for a two-night stay. Once settled head out to enjoy the city - perhaps a stroll along the Champs Elysee then dinner in one of the cosy restaurants dotted around the pretty Montmartre neighbourhood.
In the morning head over to the Eiffel Tower for a small group trip to the top. Once you have made your way back down hop onto a cruise boat and enjoy the beautiful bridges along the river Seine. Then, make your way over to the iconic Louvre Museum to meet the Mona Lisa and many other world-class masterpieces.
Following breakfast at your hotel make your way to the station for the train ride to Bayeux where you will spend the following two-nights. The town's medieval heart of cobbled streets and half-timber houses is a beautiful place to unwind with numerous traditional cafes and restaurants to enjoy some local delicacies. A Calvados nightcap in this part of the world is a must!
Meet your guide and small group this morning for a day that we're sure will live long in your memory. During the next eight hours, you will visit some of the most hallowed D-Day sites such as Pointe du Hoc, Utah Beach, and Omaha Beach all while being guided by a knowledgeable guide who is on hand to answer any questions.
Make your way to the station for your train back to Paris to continue your travels elsewhere. If you would like to extend your trip, then please do speak to any of our Travel Consultants - a trip to St Michel in Normandy or further afield is certainly worthwhile!
