Eight-day Norway escorted tour on the Bergen and Flåm railways, Oslo and Bergen

Illustration of Highlights of Norway's Fjords & Cities

Great Rail Journeys operates this 8-day escorted tour departing from London Heathrow and returning there, covering Norway's fjords and capital cities across Oslo, Bergen, Flåm, and Voss. The journey spans seven nights in three and four-star hotels with breakfast daily and three included dinners. A UK Tour Manager provides expertise throughout. The heart of the tour is two of the world's most celebrated train journeys: the Bergen Railway, which winds through the Hallingdal Valley and across the Hardangervidda plateau at 4,000 feet, and the Flåm Railway, a steep standard-gauge line that descends 12 miles through canyons past the Kjosfossen waterfall. Between rail journeys, you cruise through Sognefjord, Norway's longest and deepest fjord, and ride the Voss Gondola to Mount Hangur for panoramic views. Guided sightseeing tours explore Bergen's historic Bryggen waterfront and Oslo's museums and waterfront. The pace is relaxed, with two nights in each major stop, balancing structured activities with free time to explore independently.
