Vacations By Rail's 9-day Highlights of Norway's Fjords & Cities is an escorted tour through Norway's most celebrated rail and fjord landscapes, starting in Oslo and ending at Sognefjord. A Tour Manager leads the group from day 2 through day 8. The heart of the journey involves two of the world's most famous train routes: the Bergen Railway, which climbs across the Hardangervidda Plateau via Finse at 4,000 feet on day 3, and the Flåm Railway, which descends past the Kjosfossen waterfall on day 5. Between rail journeys, travellers cruise Sognefjord and ride the Voss Gondola cable car to the summit of Mount Hangur. Bergen's historic Bryggen waterfront receives a guided tour, and Oslo is explored both independently and on an Oslofjord cruise. Eight nights in 3- and 4-star hotels, all rail and cruise transport, daily breakfast, and three group dinners are included.
