Illustration of Norway's Fjords & Cities in Winter

Great Rail Journeys operates this 8-day escorted winter journey through Norway, starting in London and ending in Oslo. The tour combines rail travel with two fjord cruises and hotel stays in Bergen, Flåm and Oslo. A UK Tour Manager leads the group throughout. Days begin with breakfast; guests ride the Flåm Railway, one of the world's steepest standard-gauge railways, descending past waterfalls and dramatic landscapes. In Bergen, a guided tour explores the historic Bryggen waterfront and colourful wooden buildings. A visit to the Viking Valley of Njardarheimr offers a glimpse of traditional Viking life and crafts. The tour includes funicular and gondola rides to mountain viewpoints, cruises on the Nærøyfjord and Oslofjord, and time to explore Oslo's museums and modern streets. This package suits escorted-tour travellers who value guidance, history and scenic rail journeys without the need to plan logistics.
