Regent Holidays

Twilight Train - Destination Icehotel

Stockholm to Swedish Lapland by overnight sleeper train, ending at ICEHOTEL

Illustration of Twilight Train - Destination Icehotel

Regent Holidays pairs two contrasting Swedish experiences: a free-roaming two-day stay in Stockholm with a three-night stay at ICEHOTEL in the village of Jukkasjärvi in Swedish Lapland. The seven-day journey opens with flights from the UK to Stockholm, where you spend your first two nights at the Downtown Camper by Scandic hotel and explore at your own pace (the itinerary suggests the Fotografiska museum, the Royal Palace, the Vasa Museum, or the Viking Museum, but the days are unscripted). On day three, you board the overnight sleeper train from Stockholm heading north, settling into a private compartment for the journey to Kiruna. You wake in the Arctic, transfer to the ICEHOTEL, and spend one night in an Art Suite at minus five degrees Celsius in a thermal sleeping bag on a bed layered with reindeer hides, with your luggage kept warm in the heated Riverside Lobby. You then move to the Kaamos Warm Room for two nights, where you enjoy sauna sessions and choose from optional husky safaris, snowmobile outings, or an ice sculpting class using pure Torne River ice. The itinerary returns you to the UK on day seven.

What to know before you look closer

  • The Art Suite night is at minus five degrees Celsius; confirm your cold-weather tolerance and thermal sleeping bag comfort with Regent Holidays before booking
  • Optional excursions such as husky safaris and snowmobile outings are not included in the from-price
