The Royal Scotsman

Your luxurious adventure aboard the Royal Scotsman begins at Edinburgh Waverley. The train heads north through Perth, before entering the wild landscapes surrounding Pitlochry and Blair Athol. Relax amid Edwardian elegance while indulging in afternoon tea as the rolling hills give way to dramatic peaks. A short trip on the private Strathspey Railway takes you to picturesque Boat of Garten, where the train halts for the night. Savour a delightful dinner of fine Scottish cuisine, followed by live entertainment in the Observation Car.

Kyle of Lochalsh

Enjoy breakfast as the train departs toward Inverness. Continue on the Kyle Line, one of Britain's most scenic routes, past Loch Luichart and the Torridon Mountains. At Strathcarron, alight to visit Attadale Gardens (30,000-acre estate with Water Garden, Japanese Garden and Sunken Garden) and enjoy light refreshments with your hosts. Alternatively, disembark at Plockton for a boat trip to observe wild seals, a woodland walk and a traditional Highland welcome at the Plockton Hotel. Return to the train in Kyle of Lochalsh, stabled for the night. After dinner, enjoy local musicians in the Observation Car.

Aviemore

Departing Kyle of Lochalsh, retrace part of yesterday's scenic route while savouring breakfast en route to Inverness. Option to visit Tomatin Distillery for a whisky production tour and single malt tasting, or stay onboard for tales from a Highland storyteller. After lunch on the train, disembark in Aviemore for an afternoon excursion to Ballindalloch Castle – a grand country house in the Speyside whisky region with an exclusive private tour. Rejoin the train in Aviemore in the early evening and journey towards Dundee for the night. Celebrate the last evening with a grand gala dinner followed by Scottish country dancing on the station platform.
