Illustration of San Remo, Portofino & the Italian Riviera for Solo Travellers by Rail

Leger Holidays offers a six-day, five-night coastal escape on Italy's Riviera for solo travellers. You depart London on Eurostar, connect via TGV to Nice, then coach to Diano Marina, a seaside resort sheltered by the Maritime Alps. The entire stay is based at the 4-star B&B Hotel Diano Marina Palace, giving you a stable base rather than packing and unpacking each night. Days 2 and 5 are entirely free to rest by the sea, wander the old town, or explore nearby medieval villages. On Day 3, the group travels by coach to Dolceacqua, a hilltop village built around the River Nervia, then to San Remo, known for its flower market and elegant old quarter clinging to steep terrain. Day 4 includes a ferry to Portofino, a crescent-shaped fishing village on the Riviera, followed by leisure time in Santa Margherita. A Tour Manager escorts the group throughout, handling logistics while leaving you free to set your own rhythm. Breakfast comes daily, and four dinners and one lunch are included with wine or beer. The tour suits anyone seeking a relaxed Mediterranean sojourn with the reassurance of rail travel and guided excursions, without the pressure of constant movement.
