Amsterdam's canals are lined with 17th century Golden Age gabled houses; cycle hire is readily available, and the Van Gogh Museum is recommended to book in advance.

A full day exploring Prague, including the Castle Complex with its grand Cathedral and Golden Lane, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town across the Charles Bridge with its astronomical clock, and the New Town's Charles Square, the largest medieval square in Europe.
- Day 8railovernight: Munich
Prague to Munich
Return to the main station for a direct train journey to Munich, crossing back into Germany at Furth im Wald and into Bavaria, arriving mid-afternoon. Check in at the Eurostars Book Hotel (or similar) for an overnight stay, with time to enjoy a Bavarian beer hall in the evening.
- Day 9railovernight: Paris
Munich to Paris
A morning wander around Munich before a 2-hour train to Stuttgart (a recommended lunch stop) and onward by high-speed TGV to Paris. Check in at the 25hrs Terminus Nord Hotel (or similar), with an evening in the City of Light.
- Day 10rail
Paris to London
A convenient Eurostar departure from the Gare du Nord back to London at the end of the holiday.
