Day by day

  1. Day 1overnight: Bergen

    Bergen

    Arrive into Bergen, a vibrant and picturesque city surrounded by stunning natural landscapes. Explore the Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf UNESCO World Heritage Site, take the Fløyen Funicular for panoramic views, sample fresh seafood at the Fish Market, or visit the Troldhaugen Edvard Grieg Museum.

  2. Day 2overnight: Balestrand

    Boat to Balestrand

    Boat to Sogndal (4.5 hours), continuing to Balestrand, a picturesque village on the northern shore of the Sognefjord, Norway's longest and deepest fjord, known for its natural beauty, hiking and historic Swiss-style and dragon-style architecture.

  3. Day 3overnight: Balestrand

    Balestrand

    Full day to explore Balestrand's natural surroundings, hike towards Mount Hoven, visit local art galleries inspired by painters Hans Dahl and Nikolai Astrup, or relax along the Miño-style Sognefjord waterfront.

  4. Day 4railovernight: Voss

    Flåm and Voss

    Boat to Flåm (1.5 hours), a small village known for its natural beauty and as the gateway to iconic fjordland experiences. Board the Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana), one of the world's steepest railway lines, then change onto the Bergen Line (Bergensbanen) to Voss (combined 2.5 hours).

  5. Day 5overnight: Voss

    Voss

    Voss is known as the adventure capital of Norway, with paragliding, skydiving, BASE jumping, white-water rafting and kayaking on offer, plus hiking trails, the Voss Folk Museum and fjord tours of the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord.

  6. Day 6railovernight: Bergen

    Voss / Bergen

    Train to Bergen (2 hours). Return to Bergen for another night to rest after the fjords adventure, with time to enjoy Bergen's nightlife around Bryggen and the Fisketorget.

  7. Day 7

    Bergen

    Final morning in Bergen before departure. The quickest way home is a flight from Bergen (or Oslo).
