Illustration of Norway's fjord railway experience

Railtour Suisse's Norway's Fjord Railway Experience is a five-day self-guided journey from Oslo to Bergen, combining two of Norway's most renowned train lines with fjord and coach travel. The trip begins in Oslo with a day for independent sightseeing at the Vigeland Sculpture Park, Viking Ship Museum, and other attractions. Day 2 takes you on the Bergen Railway as it climbs to the Hardangervidda high plateau, then switches to the celebrated Flåm Railway, which descends through wild landscapes and waterfalls. On day 3, you ferry across the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, then travel by coach and train to Bergen. The final day is yours to explore Bergen's Bryggen Hanseatic district, the Fløi railway, and Edvard Grieg's house. Each night is spent in a solid three-star hotel with breakfast included. This trip suits independent explorers who prefer to make their own pace through cities and landscapes without a guide, and repeat rail travellers drawn to the two signature railways.
