Day by day

  1. Day 1railovernight: Maharajas Express Train

    (Sunday) Mumbai – Board Maharaja Express: Mumbai to Udaipur

    Assemble at 0800 hours at The Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, Mumbai for registration and check-in, then a tour brief and meeting the facilitators. Proceed to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Terminus for a welcome drink and Police Band send-off. The train departs Mumbai at approximately 1055 hours for Udaipur.

  2. Day 2railovernight: Maharajas Express Train

    (Monday) Udaipur, Rajasthan

    Disembark at 0930 hours for a boat ride on Lake Pichola, then visit the City Palace (Mor Chowk, Moti Mahal, Chini Mahal, Zenana Mahal), the Crystal Gallery and Darbar Hall. Lunch at the Satkar Hall of Fateh Prakash Palace. Evening at leisure on-board or optional spa at a five-star hotel; the train proceeds overnight to Jodhpur.

  3. Day 3overnight: Maharajas Express Train

    (Tuesday) Jodhpur, Rajasthan

    Morning at leisure on-board or optional tours (Bishnoi villages, spa at a 5-star hotel, Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum and Jaswant Thada, or private car with guide). After lunch, visit Mehrangarh Fort followed by a Tuk Tuk walking tour of the Old Clock Tower market. Cocktail evening with Marwar culinary delights at an exclusive venue, then onward to Bikaner.

  4. Day 4railovernight: Maharajas Express Train

    (Wednesday) Bikaner, Rajasthan

    Arrive Bikaner around 1000 hours; optional tour to Lalgarh Palace Museum. After lunch, visit Junagarh Fort (Diwan-i-Khas, Phool Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Badal Mahal, Anup Mahal), then a camel-cart convoy Sundowner on the Sand Dunes with cocktails, barbecue and folk dances (Langaas and Kalbeliyas). Return to the train by 2015 hours for the onward journey to Jaipur.

  5. Day 5railovernight: Maharajas Express Train

    (Thursday) Jaipur, Rajasthan

    Visit Amber Fort at 0930 hours (royal apartments, Sheesh Mahal, Hall of Victory), then an exclusive lunch at Rambagh Palace Hotel. Optional afternoon activities include spa, or City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Train proceeds to Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore).

  6. Day 6railovernight: Maharajas Express Train

    (Friday) Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore), Rajasthan and Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh

    Early morning game drive safari in Ranthambore National Park. Continue by train to Fatehpur Sikri, disembarking at 1500 hours for a tour of the deserted Mughal capital (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Return to the train for an 'Indian Evening'.

  7. Day 7rail

    (Saturday) Agra, Uttar Pradesh

    Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal, followed by breakfast atop the Taj Khema tabletop lawn overlooking the monument. Return to the train for lunch as it proceeds to Delhi. Journey ends approximately 1445 hours on arrival at Delhi Safdarjung Station.
