Vacations By Rail operates this 6-day river cruise along the Douro, Portugal's most storied waterway, aboard a Croisi Europe ship. The journey begins in Porto and ends in Pinhão, traveling through Portugal's terraced wine country and across the border into Spain. A Tour Manager and Cruise Director team leads the group throughout. Days begin with breakfast aboard, continue with guided walking tours and coach excursions to historic sites like Salamanca and Mateus Palace, and include wine tastings at a quinta on the port wine route. Lunches and dinners are served onboard, with drinks included at dinner, plus onboard cultural performances such as flamenco and folklore dancing.
