Travel to Europe operates this 8-day independent rail vacation that bases you in two cities without daily packing. You begin in Frankfurt, Germany's main international gateway, with four nights exploring the city's museum riverbank, historic Romerberg, and Goethe Haus, plus two day trips by regional rail: one through the Lahn Valley to the medieval town of Limburg an der Lahn and Weilburg Palace, the other to Rudesheim am Rhein on the Rhine River, where the included Romantic Tour takes you by cable car, chairlift, and river cruises past Rheinstein Castle. On day five, the high-speed ICE train carries you across central Germany to Berlin in 4.5 hours. From Berlin, you spend three nights in the city center using the included Welcome Card for public transport and museum discounts, with an optional free walking tour and the flexibility to take a day trip by rail to either Potsdam's palaces or the Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen. Throughout, hotels are centrally located near stations, buffet breakfast is provided, and an itinerary with tickets and city guides supports independent exploration at your own pace.
