A pre-arranged motorcoach collects you for the approx. 35-minute drive to Pemberton train station, where you board Rocky Mountaineer to Quesnel, gateway to the North Cariboo. Highlights include the shorelines of Anderson Lake and glacier-fed Seton Lake, sweeping views of the Fraser Canyon, and the crossing of Deep Creek Bridge, one of the highest railway bridges in the world. The train follows the Fraser River into Quesnel in the evening.
Continue eastward to Jasper National Park, following the Fraser River north to Prince George then east through the forests of northern British Columbia (moose, caribou and bear country). Climb past Mount Robson (3,954m/12,972ft, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies) through Yellowhead Pass into Alberta. The rail journey ends this evening in Jasper.
