Illustration of Vintage Baltics

PTG Tours operates Vintage Baltics, a 10-day escorted journey through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The tour departs from Vilnius and concludes in Tallinn, with overnight stays in each city plus intermediate stops in Trakai, Riga and Tartu. Days begin with guided city tours of the medieval old towns and specific attractions, then move onward by train or coach to the next destination. Your luggage travels with the coach, so rail journeys are unencumbered. Highlights include Trakai's island castle on Lake Galve (Day 3), a ride on the Siaurukas narrow-gauge heritage railway built in 1899 (Day 5), Turaida Castle in Gauja National Park (Day 7), and the UNESCO-listed medieval old town of Tallinn (Day 8). Two days are left free for independent exploration. This tour suits history lovers drawn to medieval Baltic architecture, rail enthusiasts keen to ride heritage railways, and travellers who prefer the structure of an escorted group with local expertise included.
