Illustration of Vietnam Adventure

Exodus Travels operates this 14-day escorted group tour through Vietnam, beginning in Hanoi and concluding in the Mekong Delta. An expert tour leader guides you through the country's cultural and historical heart: you spend a night aboard a traditional junk sailboat drifting among the limestone peaks of Ha Long Bay, ride the Reunification Express sleeper train south to Hue, walk through the living museum of Hoi An's wooden merchants' houses and temples, explore the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden Purple City, venture underground at the Cu Chi Tunnels, and navigate the Mekong Delta by wooden boat before staying in a simple homestay-style guesthouse. The itinerary balances guided sightseeing with free time in most cities. Hotels are mid-range properties in major cities; meals comprise 12 breakfasts plus selective lunches and dinners. The tour suits first-time rail travellers seeking hands-on cultural immersion with logistical support, as well as history enthusiasts and budget-conscious explorers drawn to Vietnam's colonial architecture, war sites, and rural delta life.

Your tour leader then ensures a big welcome by arranging a group dinner at a nearby restaurant.
