    Depart London St Pancras on a Eurostar service to Paris, then change to the Gare de Lyon for a TGV Lyria service through France and into Switzerland. Overnight at the Hotel Mirabeau (or similar) in Lausanne.

    Lausanne to Verona

    A free morning in Lausanne, then travel by rail alongside the Lavaux vineyards and Chateau de Chillon, through the Swiss and Italian Alps to Milan, then on to Verona Porta Nuova station. Check in at the Hotel Indigo (or similar) in time for a late dinner. You have 3 nights here.

    Verona and the Opera

    Explore Verona's Roman and medieval architecture and its Shakespearean connections, including Juliet's house and balcony, before an evening performance in the Arena di Verona, seated rather than on the stone steps.

  5. Day 5railovernight: Munich

    Verona to Munich

    A scenic rail journey across the Austrian border and through the Alps via the Brenner Pass to Munich. Check in for an overnight stay at the Eurostars Book (or similar).

  6. Day 6rail

    Munich to London

    After breakfast, return to Munich's main station and catch a high-speed ICE service to Brussels via Frankfurt, then change onto the Eurostar back to London. An optional stop en route in Cologne or Brussels can make for a more relaxing journey.
