Transindus · Tailor Made Tour
Week in Uzbekistan via high-speed rail from Tashkent to Samarkand

Transindus operates this 8-day tailor-made tour of Uzbekistan, a streamlined introduction to the country's three cultural capitals: Tashkent, Bukhara, and Samarkand. Starting with an overnight flight from London to Tashkent, the itinerary spends one day exploring the capital's 14th-century Hast Imam complex and Amir Timur Square, then flies to Bukhara for two days among medieval monuments like the Poi-i-Kalan complex and the Ark fortress. The centerpiece is a high-speed train journey to Samarkand, where three days are devoted to the Registan (the greatest ensemble of Timurid-era buildings), the Bibi Khanum mosque, the Shah-i-Zinda tomb complex, and the ancient city of Afrosiab. A return high-speed train to Tashkent on Day 7 allows a final morning visit to the Museum of Fine Arts or Chorsu Bazaar before the afternoon flight home. A private English-speaking guide and driver accompany you throughout. The mix of rail, flight, and private car transfer, combined with guided city walks and included meals, suits history lovers and first-time Silk Road travelers who prefer organized sightseeing without the logistics.
Fly overnight on Uzbek Airways flight HY57 from London Heathrow direct to Tashkent.
On arrival in the Uzbek capital, met at the airport by your local TransIndus representative and driven to your hotel for a one-night stay. After a late lunch at a traditional Uzbek restaurant, a gentle afternoon's tour beginning at the Hast Imam complex in old Tashkent, with its 14th-century mosques, tomb and madrasa, then across town to Amir Timur Square.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Bukhara. After checking in and lunch, a guided tour of the city's historic highlights beginning with the Lyab-i Hauz pond, the Minara-i Kalan minaret, and the Kalan Mosque and Mir-i Arab Madrasa at the Poi-i-Kalan complex.
Continue exploring Bukhara's medieval monuments in the morning, covering the Ark fortress and the Chor Minor Madrassa. After lunch, drive to the station to catch the afternoon train to Samarkand.
Sightseeing begins with the Registan, the greatest ensemble of Timurid-era buildings, followed by the Bibi Khanum mosque and Siab market. A return visit to the Registan at sunset.
Visit the archaeological site of ancient Samarkand ('Afrosiab') and Ulug Beg's museum in the morning. After lunch and some downtime, visit the Shah-i-Zinda tomb complex and, time permitting, a silk carpet weaving workshop.
Round off sightseeing with a morning visit to the Gur-i-Amir mausoleum, the family crypt of the Timurid Dynasty. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing by the hotel pool or shopping before an evening train journey back to Tashkent.
After breakfast, time to visit Tashkent's Museum of Fine Arts and possibly Chorsu Bazaar, before lunch and transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK, departing at 4:20pm local time.
