Seven-day VIA Rail Prestige Class trans-Canada trip, Toronto to Vancouver

The Canadian Prestige: Westbound, a rail journey with Canada Rail (canadarail.ca)

Canada Rail, at canadarail.ca, runs this 7-day, 6-night independent rail trip from Toronto to Vancouver. After a private transfer to the hotel and a complimentary CN Tower visit on arrival day, travelers board VIA Rail's "The Canadian" in Prestige Class for four nights, with butler service and made-to-order meals in the dining car. The train crosses Ontario for a full day north of the Great Lakes, then the prairies of Manitoba and Saskatchewan with an optional stop in Winnipeg, before entering the Canadian Rockies near Jasper and continuing into British Columbia. The Canadian arrives in Vancouver on the morning of day six, where a private city tour is included on the way to the hotel, taking in the urban beaches, Gastown, and Granville Island. Two nights of Fairmont Gold Floor hotel rooms bookend the train journey. This suits travelers who want an unhurried, scenic crossing of Canada with a high level of service rather than a series of city stops.
