Railtrail Tours operates this 5-day, 4-night escorted tour of Cornwall's gardens, based at The Lanhydrock Hotel in Bodmin for all four nights. The journey there runs along the English Riviera coastal route past the Dawlish Seawall, and the days that follow visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Pencarrow House & Gardens, the Eden Project, Pinetum Gardens, and Lanhydrock House, finishing with a ride on the Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway. A Tour Manager travels with the group throughout, and coach transfers link each garden visit from the single Bodmin base. It suits travelers who want a garden-focused Cornwall trip with one steam railway excursion, a scenic rail journey to start, and a single hotel for the whole stay rather than changing accommodation each night.

What to know before you look closer

  • The single room supplement, from 1,429 GBP, is well above half of the twin-share price of 1,129 GBP, a notable premium for solo travelers.
  • Most garden visits use private coach; the only heritage rail excursion is the Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway on day 4.
  • Only breakfast and evening meals are included each night, plus one cream tea; other lunches are at your own expense.
