Euroventure · Self-guided rail & coach tour
Berlin to Helsinki in 14 days via Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm

Euroventure's Scandinavian journey spans 14 days and five countries, departing Berlin and finishing in Helsinki. This is self-guided travel with a personalised pack and round-the-clock support, not an escorted tour. You begin with three nights exploring Berlin's WWII history and alternative culture, then coach to Copenhagen for three nights of microbreweries and the Little Mermaid. From there, coach to Oslo to see Viking ships and the ski jump, then eight hours to Stockholm for the old town and ABBA museum. On Day 12, you board a 16-hour overnight ferry across the Baltic to Helsinki, a harbour town on a picturesque fjord. Your final days take in the Rock Church carved into stone and Suomenlinna Sea Fortress. All transport tickets, Interrail or Eurail passes, accommodation, and seat reservations are included, making this suit independent travellers and those new to rail who want expert logistics handled without a guide shadowing them.
Berlin is the alternative, cool kid of Europe, crammed full of fascinating WWII history around every corner.
See a section of the old Berlin Wall and climb the dome of the renovated Reichstag.
Discover the nightlife of Schöneberg and Kreuzberg before heading north.
Coach to Copenhagen (9 hours). Copenhagen is a place where equal rights and liberal attitudes take precedence, incredibly safe and relaxed.
Visit the Little Mermaid, go to one of the world's oldest theme parks, and sample fruity beers at plenty of microbreweries.
Visit the hippie commune of Christiania, where squatters' rights still hold sway, and admire the city's amazing architecture.
Coach to Oslo (8 hours). Oslo is not a big city, but has exceptional museums and is easy to walk around into the overlooking hills.
See excellently preserved Viking ships, understand Norway's heritage at the Folk Museum, have a go at the ski jump, or see Edvard Munch's 'The Scream' at the National Gallery.
Coach to Stockholm (8 hours), described as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with calm waterways, colourful buildings and cobbled streets.
Wander up the cobbled streets of the old town and admire the colourful skyline from a boat tour.
Visit the ABBA museum before taking the overnight ferry across the Baltic Sea.
Night ferry to Helsinki (16 hours), a harbour town set on a picturesque fjord with understated, sophisticated elegance.
Visit the Finnish national gallery and museum, take a boat out to Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, or visit the Rock Church, a space-age cathedral carved into the stone in Toolo.
Visit the Finnish folk museum with live actors, stroll through Sibelius Park, or take a boozy sightseeing tour on the red pub-tram before heading home.
