Meet the Great Rail Journeys Tour Manager at London Heathrow before flying to Canada. On arrival in Calgary, continue by coach to Banff, checking in to the hotel for the next two nights. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free to explore at your own pace.
Ride the Banff Gondola nearly 7,500 feet above sea level to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for breathtaking views of Banff National Park. Stroll the boardwalk to the Cosmic Ray Station and Sanson's Peak or visit the mountaintop discovery centre. The afternoon is free to explore at leisure. This evening, dine together in a local restaurant.

Board the Rocky Mountaineer early this morning for the first daytime journey through Canada's most jaw-dropping scenery in SilverLeaf Class glass-domed cars. Pass Castle Mountain, climb into Kicking Horse Pass, travel through the Spiral Tunnels, cross the Continental Divide from Alberta into British Columbia, and descend into Yoho National Park. Arrive in Kamloops for an overnight stay.
