  1. Day 1railovernight: Banff

    Flying to Canada

    Meet the Great Rail Journeys Tour Manager at London Heathrow before flying to Canada. On arrival in Calgary, continue by coach to Banff, checking in to the hotel for the next two nights. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free to explore at your own pace.

  2. Day 2overnight: Banff

    Banff National Park

    Ride the Banff Gondola nearly 7,500 feet above sea level to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for breathtaking views of Banff National Park. Stroll the boardwalk to the Cosmic Ray Station and Sanson's Peak or visit the mountaintop discovery centre. The afternoon is free to explore at leisure. This evening, dine together in a local restaurant.

  3. Day 3overnight: Jasper

    Across the Icefields Parkway to Jasper

    Journey by coach to Jasper along the Icefields Parkway. Stop at Lake Louise, then visit the Columbia Icefield to view the Athabasca Glacier and board Ice Explorer vehicles onto its surface. Make a short stop at Athabasca Falls. Arrive in Jasper and check in for a two-night stay.

  4. Day 4overnight: Jasper

    Jasper & Maligne Lake

    Explore Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Journey to Maligne Lake, the largest glacier-fed lake in the Canadian Rockies, for a cruise across its crystal-clear waters passing dramatic peaks and dense forests. Look out for wildlife and take in views of Spirit Island. The afternoon is free to relax or explore.

  5. Day 5overnight: Kamloops

    Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops

    Board the Rocky Mountaineer early this morning for the first daytime journey through Canada's most jaw-dropping scenery in SilverLeaf Class glass-domed cars. Pass Castle Mountain, climb into Kicking Horse Pass, travel through the Spiral Tunnels, cross the Continental Divide from Alberta into British Columbia, and descend into Yoho National Park. Arrive in Kamloops for an overnight stay.

  6. Day 6overnight: Vancouver

    Rocky Mountaineer to the Pacific Coast

    Continue on the Rocky Mountaineer through the Thompson and Fraser Canyons, past Hell's Gate, watching for Canadian wildlife. Arrive in Vancouver and check in to the hotel, located a short distance from Downtown and the harbour. Free evening to explore.

  7. Day 7overnight: Vancouver

    Sightseeing in Vancouver

    Guided sightseeing tour of Vancouver exploring Gastown, Chinatown (the largest in Canada) and Stanley Park, following part of the famous Seawall and viewing colourful totem poles. The afternoon is free to explore independently. Regroup this evening for dinner in the hotel restaurant.

    A free day in Vancouver

    A full free day to immerse yourself in Vancouver. Options include the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Lynn Canyon Park, the Museum of Anthropology, Vancouver Art Gallery, culinary tours or the city's thriving restaurant scene.

  9. Day 9overnight: Azamara Pursuit (at sea)

    Boarding your cruise ship in Vancouver

    Transferred to the Azamara Pursuit, saying farewell to the Tour Manager and welcomed by the crew. All meals and a house drinks package are included onboard. The ship sails into the scenic surrounds of the Salish Sea.

  11. Day 11overnight: Azamara Pursuit (Ketchikan)

    Ketchikan: First City of Alaska

    Arrive in Ketchikan, the 'salmon capital of the world'. Wander through Creek Street, a historic boardwalk on stilts. Visit the Totem Heritage Center, housing one of the world's largest collections of unrestored 19th-century totem poles. Sample the town's celebrated salmon.

  12. Day 12overnight: Azamara Pursuit (Klawock)

    Tlingit heritage in Klawock

    Dock in Klawock on Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska. Visit Klawock Totem Park for a fascinating insight into Tlingit heritage. Opportunities to spot local wildlife, enjoy peaceful walks or take in the beauty of the island's forested shores.

  13. Day 13overnight: Azamara Pursuit (Juneau)

    Juneau – Alaska's state capital

    Explore Juneau, tucked between forested mountains and icy waters. Visit the Alaska State Museum, take the Mount Roberts Tramway for panoramic views, or visit the Mendenhall Glacier. Note: the 28th July departure operates a different 8-night cruise itinerary, docking at Icy Strait Point instead of Juneau on this day.

  14. Day 14railovernight: Azamara Pursuit (Skagway)

    Gold Rush history in Skagway

    Dock in Skagway, a frontier town at the end of the White Pass & Yukon Railroad. Stroll along Broadway Street with its wooden boardwalks and preserved 19th-century buildings. Visit the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Note: on the 28th July departure, the ship docks in Haines instead.

  15. Day 15overnight: Azamara Pursuit (Icy Strait Point)

    Icy Strait Point

    Arrive at Icy Strait Point near the native Tlingit village of Hoonah. Watch for humpback whales, orcas and sea lions. Take a nature walk along forested trails, visit the restored cannery or learn about Tlingit traditions. Note: on the 28th July departure, the ship docks at Hubbard Glacier instead.

  16. Day 16overnight: Azamara Pursuit (Wrangell)

    Seeking bears in Wrangell

    Discover Wrangell, one of Alaska's oldest settlements. Explore the Stikine River, visit the Anan Wildlife Observatory where black bears and bald eagles gather during the salmon run, wander to Petroglyph Beach or visit local museums. Note: on the 28th July departure, the ship docks in Valdez instead.

  17. Day 17overnight: Azamara Pursuit (at sea)

    Sailing towards Victoria

    A day at sea sailing towards Victoria. Enjoy a spa treatment, lunch at a speciality restaurant, relax in the Drawing Room or enjoy evening entertainment. Note: on the 28th July departure, the ship docks in Seward where the cruise ends; guests fly home to the UK, landing on Day 18.
