Four-day rail trip from Budapest to Munich with a castle day trip

Railbookers operates this 4-day, 3-night independent rail vacation from Budapest to Munich, a short break rather than a multi-city tour. The trip begins with a direct train from Budapest through Austria, arriving in Munich for three nights at the same hotel. Day 2 is self-guided, using an included sightseeing pass to visit Nymphenburg Palace, walk through the Englischer Garten, and take in the historic Marienplatz. On day 3, a small-group tour visits Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria's well-known fairy-tale castle, followed by an evening at the Hofbräuhaus. Because most of the trip is self-guided aside from the one small-group castle excursion, it suits independent travelers who prefer to set their own pace over those who want a fully escorted schedule. Rail travel, three nights of hotel breakfast, and a 24-hour hop-on hop-off pass are included.
Make your way to the station for your direct train to Munich. Enjoy the scenery as you speed through Austria, and on arrival head to your hotel for 3-night stay.
Enjoy discovering all Munich has to offer with your included sightseeing pass. Head out of the city first to the beautiful Nymphenburg Palace. Next take a stroll around the pretty Englischer Garten before discovering the historic Marienplatz.
Embark on a small group tour of the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Discover all there is to know about this fairy tale castle both inside and out, then in the evening enjoy true Bavarian hospitality in the iconic Hofbrauhaus.
