Just outside the city, there's the Zaanse Schaans museum, flower fields and famous flower market. You can picnic in the Vondelpark with its many sculptures (including one by Picasso), shop at Magna Plaza, take a peaceful walk through Amsterdamse Bos (a forest with lakes, meadows, and cafes), or a catch a film at the art deco Pathe Tuschinskitheater in Southern Canal Ring.
