    Berlin is Europe's alternative and edgy capital, with diverse culture and poignant WWII history. Highlights: see a section of the old Berlin Wall; climb the dome of the renovated Reichstag; discover the nightlife of Schoneberg and Kreuzberg. Train to Prague - 5 hours.

  2. Day 3railovernight: Prague

    Prague (2 nights)

    Prague's architectural marvels and picturesque side streets converge history and beauty; the birthplace of Pilsner beer. Highlights: cross the Charles Bridge; climb the Petrin Lookout Tower; drink Czech Pilsner beers in old town pubs. Train to Vienna - 4 hours.

  3. Day 5railovernight: Vienna

    Vienna (2 nights)

    Vienna's crisp elegance and imperial grandeur come with classical palaces and majestic buildings. Highlights: visit the Spanish Riding School of Vienna; eat apple strudel and wiener schnitzel; a classical concert; relax at Kaiserwasser. Train to Budapest - 3 hours.

    Budapest (2 nights)

    Budapest straddles the Danube with architecture from Baroque to Art Nouveau and a turn-of-the-century ambiance. Highlights: relax in 15th century thermal spas; photos from Buda castle; Sziget rock and indie festival in August. Train or bus to Ljubljana - 7-8 hours.

  5. Day 9overnight: Ljubljana

    Ljubljana (3 nights)

    Ljubljana resembles a chocolate box town with a summer-long cafe culture. Highlights: the 16th century castle on the hill; wander the colourful streets; 360-views from an art-deco skyscraper terrace; a day trip to Lake Bled. Bus to Zadar - 7 hours.

  6. Day 12overnight: Zadar

    Zadar (2 nights)

    Zadar has breathtaking beaches, cerulean skies and the mesmerizing Sea Organ. Highlights: listen to the Sea Organ cut into the beaches; a trip to Pag Island; an epic pub crawl. Bus to Sibenik - 2 hours.

  7. Day 14overnight: Sibenik

    Sibenik (2 nights)

    Sibenik is the gateway to Krka National Park and Kornati National Park in Northern Dalmatia. Highlights: an excursion to Kornati's moonlike landscapes; Krka's crystal-clear waterfalls; Sibenik Cathedral. Bus to Split - 2 hours.

  8. Day 16overnight: Split

    Split (3 nights)

    Split sits between the Adriatic and mountains, with two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Highlights: the ruin of Diocletian's Palace; admire the city approaching from the sea; stroll the glittering waterfront. Ferry to Hvar - 1 hour.

  9. Day 19overnight: Hvar

    Hvar (3 nights)

    Hvar is a playground for the rich and famous, with a 16th-century citadel and crystal-clear Adriatic waters. Highlights: climb the 16th century citadel; a PADI diving course; party at Carpe Diem beach. Ferry back to Split - 1 hour.

  10. Day 22

    Split

    Finish your trip back in Split, ready to catch your flight home. An extra night can be added to fit convenient flight times.
