Intrepid adds six new trips to rail range

Intrepid Travel has introduced six new escorted rail journeys across four continents, ranging from 9 to 11 days. These trips prioritise train travel as the primary mode of transport, with routes through Vietnam, China, Laos, Malaysia, Kenya, Eastern Canada, and Northern Sweden. Each journey is led by a local Intrepid leader and hosted for groups of 10 to 12 travellers. The operator deliberately excludes internal flights, allowing passengers to spend more time interacting with locals and fellow travellers while seeing the countryside and accessing less-visited places. The trains include the Madaraka Express through Kenya's national parks, the Jungle Railway through remote Malaysia, a cross-border bullet train from Kunming to Laos, and an overnight train from Laos to Bangkok. This approach appeals to travellers seeking meaningful, slower-paced rail experiences rather than rapid destination-hopping.
