Day by day

  1. Day 1railovernight: Indian Odyssey (onboard)

    Arrival in Delhi - Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore)

    Reporting at New Delhi Railway station at 20:15 hours for reservations and check-in. Traditional welcome and welcome drink, guests guided to cabins. Train leaves for Sawai Madhopur.

  2. Day 2railovernight: Indian Odyssey (onboard)

    Sawai Madhopur - Ranthambore National Park

    Breakfast onboard as the train arrives at Sawai Madhopur, home to Ranthambore National Park (a tiger reserve). Lunch onboard, then a village tour and high tea at Sawai Madhopur Lodge, the erstwhile royal hunting ground of the Jaipur royal family. Train departs for Agra by evening.

  3. Day 3overnight: Indian Odyssey (onboard)

    Agra

    Breakfast onboard, then visit the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan for Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Lunch at a city hotel, then visit Itimad-ud-Daulah ('Baby Taj') and Agra Fort. Optional spa or markets.

  4. Day 4overnight: Indian Odyssey (onboard)

    Jaipur

    Visit the Amber Fort (built by Maharaja Mansingh, 17th century, UNESCO Heritage Site), City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and Jantar Mantar. Lunch at a city hotel followed by the colorful market zones.

  5. Day 5overnight: Indian Odyssey (onboard)

    Udaipur

    Arrive at the 'City of Lakes'. Visit City Palace (with its 'Legacy of Honor' show) and take a ferry ride on Lake Pichola to Jagmandir Palace. Lunch onboard, then a heritage walk through the Old City in the evening.

  6. Day 6overnight: Indian Odyssey (onboard)

    Vadodara

    Visit the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Jama Masjid. Lunch onboard, then visit the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum and high tea at Laxmi Vilas Palace (built 1890) with a cultural show.

  7. Day 7overnight: Indian Odyssey (onboard)

    Aurangabad - Ellora Caves

    Arrive at Aurangabad, the Mughal city named after Emperor Aurangzeb. Lunch onboard, then a drive to the Ellora Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site, 30 rock-cut shrines dating to the 4th-5th century AD). Evening sundowner, as stated on the source page, at 'Mumbai-Hill'.

  8. Day 8rail

    Mumbai

    Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, Mumbai. Breakfast served, then guests detrain and the journey ends.
