Exploring Delhi
Today you can enjoy a free day in Delhi, getting to know the city better. Take a stroll around town and soak up the atmosphere, visit a temple or two and see the magnificent Red Fort. There's no better way to discover a city than through its food and in Delhi you can try out a few local dishes and visit the vibrant and colourful markets. Or, choose one of our optional excursions, available at a supplement.

The Deccan Odyssey
Today you'll transfer to Delhi station where the luxurious Deccan Odyssey Train is waiting for you. Step aboard and discover the wonders of the golden age of travel, while enjoying every modern amenity. Each cabin is decorated in a way that reflects a different era of the Deccan milieu. There's even a spa coach where you can book treatments. Once you've familiarised yourself with your new opulent surroundings, you'll begin your journey.

The Taj Mahal
Today the Deccan Odyssey arrives at the Mughal citadel of Agra. Enjoy breakfast onboard before you leave the train to visit the iconic Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch onboard is a selection of starters, main course, and desserts, from India and across the world. Your tour also includes other architectural gems of the Mughal Empire and the impressive Agra Fort. Dinner is served back onboard the train.

Tiger spotting in Ranthambore National Park
Following your breakfast onboard, you'll arrive at Sawai Madhopur and spend a day in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, which was once the private hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur. You'll travel in open vehicles through the park, spotting big cats, wild boar and hyenas. You'll enjoy a village safari and visit the intriguing Sawai Madhopur and go on an adventurous jungle safari. You'll return to the train for a sumptuous dinner and can relax in the 'Mumbai Hi' bar car or your cabin.

Udaipur
Relax over your leisurely breakfast onboard and then prepare for another day of adventure as you arrive at the princely city of Udaipur. You'll visit the famous City Palace which houses the spectacular Crystal Gallery, then take an informative and scenic walk through the quaint streets of the Old City. Following this you'll enjoy a lavish lunch of local dishes at a magical venue. In the afternoon you'll return to the train to relax, watch the scenery, or enjoy an aperitif in the bar before dinner is served onboard.

- Day 8railovernight: Deccan Odyssey Train
Jodhpur, the Blue City
Breakfast is served onboard this morning, and you can take your time before you arrive at Jodhpur, the 'Blue City'. Here, you'll visit the imposing Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada, the cenotaph that serves as the resting place for the royal Rajput family of Marwar. Following your visit you'll return to the train where an indulgent dinner is served, with pairing wines from around the world.

The Thar Desert
Following your breakfast onboard you'll depart for a very special journey into the Thar Desert, arriving at Jaisalmer, the heart of Thar Desert. Founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D, Jaisalmer is a fascinating desert town. You'll spend some time exploring Jaisalmer and the magnificent fort area. After enjoying the day in this beautiful desert town you'll return to the train for dinner onboard.

Jaipur
This morning, following your leisurely breakfast onboard, you'll arrive at the historic capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur, often referred to as the 'Pink City'. You'll spend some time exploring the forts and palaces of this inspiring city, and take a fascinating walk through the colourful bazaars, watching the locals go by. You'll then return to the train for a relaxed dinner onboard, enjoying regional and international cuisine, paired with fine wines from all over the globe.

Delhi
Today you'll leave the Deccan Odyssey behind as you disembark at Delhi station and transfer back to your hotel. Relax in your hotel for the afternoon, or head out to soak up some more of the Delhi atmosphere.

Delhi to the UK
Your epic adventure comes to a close today when you are transferred from your hotel back to Delhi airport for your flight back to London. If you want to continue your adventure, you can extend your stay with one of our optional extensions.
