18-day independent rail tour across England, Wales, and Scotland

Illustration of Great Britain by Rail

adeo Travel's Great Britain by Rail is an 18-day self-guided rail tour that starts in Bath and ends in London, with stops across England, Wales, and Scotland. You use a 15-day BritRail Flexi Pass to navigate the entire British rail network at your own pace, with accommodation, breakfast, three guided day excursions, and admission to major castles and museums included. The itinerary mixes city exploration (Bath, Cardiff, Edinburgh, York, London) with countryside and Highland excursions: a coach tour to Stonehenge and Cotswolds villages, a full-day Lake District adventure with a boat trip on a mountain lake, and a small-group journey to Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan Castle. This tour suits independent rail travellers and history enthusiasts who want to explore Britain's cultural landmarks and landscapes without a daily guide, supported by a travel specialist and a detailed schedule mapping each rail journey.
