Railtour suisse operates this 3-day group journey on the Glacier Express, one of the world's most celebrated panoramic trains. Departing St. Moritz and arriving in Zermatt (or vice versa), the tour divides your time between two Alpine resorts and the 8-hour train journey that connects them. Day 1 brings you to St. Moritz for a guided walk through this upscale resort town, with an optional visit to the Segantini Museum. Day 2 is spent almost entirely on the Glacier Express, where wide panoramic windows frame the Alps as the train crosses 291 bridges and 91 tunnels, climbs to the Oberalp Pass at 2,033 metres, and descends into the Valais. Meals are served at your seat. On Day 3, you explore Zermatt's charming village lanes with a guide, then have the option to ride the Gornergratbahn cogwheel railway up to 3,089 metres for views of Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn. The tour suits repeat rail travellers, couples, photographers, and anyone who values guided structure combined with time in two distinct mountain destinations.
