Take a leisurely stroll by the river Arno, and head up to Piazzale Michelangelo for a chance to see some street performers and live music, with 360 panoramic views over Florence.

    After breakfast, make your way to your walking tour and visit the world-famous Uffizi and Accademia galleries. The Uffizi Gallery, one of the most renowned art museums in the world. Inside, you'll encounter a stunning collection of Renaissance masterpieces, including works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Titian. The Accademia Gallery, home to one of the most iconic sculptures in the world, Michelangelo's David. Absorb all Florence has to offer as you walk the cobbled streets and admire the cathedrals.

    From Florence, travel along the coast to La Spezia, then change for a short and wonderfully scenic regional train ride to Manarola. You will be met and shown to your own apartment. Along the way your guide will give you all the information you need for your stay, as well as some suggestions as to what to do and some great restaurants. They will also present you with your Cinque Terre card which will cover any travel in the region during your stay. In the afternoon venture to an ancient wine cellar in Manarola for a warm welcome, and tastings of local wines and nibbles.

In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise from Manarola – a perfect and romantic tour to highlight the beauty of the Cinque Terre architecture from the coastline.

    After breakfast this morning, prepare to embark on your journey south to the beautiful city of Sorrento. Depart Manarola station and make your way to Naples with a change in La Spezia, and Rome. From Naples, a private driver and guide will meet you outside the station and transfer you to Sorrento. Enjoy the scenic coastline views on the way! Upon arrival, check in to your hotel for a three-night stay.

After a relaxed stroll around the archaeological site of the ancient city of Pompeii, take a short hike up to the rim of the volcano to meet a mountain guide and peer into the crater's rim.

  9. Day 9railovernight: Rome

    Sorrento to Rome

    Say goodbye to the Amalfi Coast after breakfast this morning and meet your private driver for a transfer back to Naples station, ready in time to meet your connecting train to Rome. Make your way to your hotel and check in for a two-night stay. The rest of the day is yours at leisure, head over to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain in the evening for the best atmosphere and dining spot!
