Railtrail Tours runs this 5-day, 4-night escorted tour from your home station to Chester, with rail travel included both ways. The group stays at the Queen Hotel in the heart of Chester for all four nights, a base close to the city's ancient walls and Roman Gardens. Day 2 travels by road to Arley Hall Gardens, developed over 250 years, before returning to Chester for a cruise on the River Dee. Day 3 crosses the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the highest and longest in Britain, with a cream tea on board, then continues to a nostalgic ride on the Llangollen Railway. Day 4 visits the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port and the model village of Port Sunlight. An experienced Tour Manager travels with the group throughout, and Railtrail Tours rates the trip's activity level as Moderate.
