Day by day

  1. Day 1railovernight: Haverfordwest

    Day 1: London - Haverfordwest

    Board the Britannic Explorer at London Victoria Station in the afternoon, with a Welsh afternoon tea as the train heads west through Bristol, across the Severn Estuary into Wales, along the south coast through Cardiff and Swansea, then through Carmarthenshire ('Garden of Wales') to Pembrokeshire. Evening cocktails in the bar, then a gourmet dinner by chef Simon Rogan (Chef Patron of the three Michelin-starred L'Enclume) in the restaurant car, followed by evening entertainment. The train spends the night in Haverfordwest.

  2. Day 2railovernight: Near Barmouth

    Day 2: Haverfordwest – Barmouth

    After breakfast, disembark at Llandrindod Wells for a choice of a guided hike through remote Welsh valleys or a visit to a Welsh lavender farm. Return to the train for lunch and continue along the Heart of Wales Line through the uplands of Carmarthenshire and Powys to Snowdonia National Park (Eryri). Dinner and entertainment on board; the train spends the night near Barmouth.

  3. Day 3railovernight: Near Moreton-in-Marsh, Cotswolds (implied by Day 4 starting point)

    Day 3: Barmouth - Moreton-in-Marsh

    A peaceful morning aboard (wellness ritual or lie-in, brunch with mimosa) before arriving in Machynlleth, on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, known for its Museum of Modern Art; choose a theatre-performance experience or an introductory clay pigeon shooting session. Lunch on board as the train continues through Mid Wales and Montgomeryshire, past Welshpool into Shropshire. In the evening, disembark for an exclusive gathering at The Fox at Oddington, a 16th-century Cotswolds pub restored by Carole Bamford (founder of Daylesford).

  4. Day 4

    Day 4: Oxfordshire - London

    Breakfast on the return journey to London through Oxfordshire and the Chilterns, arriving at Victoria Station in the morning.
