Independent rail trip: Berlin to Warsaw across two countries

Railbookers operates this five-day, four-night independent, self-guided rail trip from Berlin to Warsaw. The first two nights are based in Berlin, where day 2 takes in the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, and fragments of the Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery. On day 3, a direct train carries travelers east from Berlin to Warsaw, crossing the German and Polish countryside, for a second two-night stay. Day 4 is left at leisure to explore Warsaw's Royal Castle and the Warsaw Uprising Museum, with time also suggested for a stroll through the Old Town and a visit to the Neon Museum. Hop-on hop-off sightseeing cards are included in both cities rather than a guided tour, and rail travel runs in standard class throughout. Hotel choices in each city span a range of tiers. This suits travelers who want to cover two capital cities by train on their own schedule, without a fully escorted itinerary.
