    Flight from Cairns to Nhulunbuy. Afternoon exploring the frontier village, created in the 1960s after the discovery of Bauxite on the Gove Peninsula, including the Roy (Malpi) Marika Lookout.

    Gove Peninsula

    'Welcome to Country' ceremony at Wirrwawuy Beach to learn about Yolngu culture and kinship. Visit the Buku-Larrnggay Mulka art centre and Shady Beach for lunch and a Bush Medicine and Women's Healing demonstration.

  3. Day 3overnight: 2 nights Murwangi Safari Camp

    Murwangi

    Follow the Central Arnhem Road to the Goyder River, main tributary of the Arafura Swamp. Check in to an exclusive safari camp at Murwangi on the Arafura floodplains.

  4. Day 4

    Arafura Swamp and Murwangi Discovery Tour

    A tranquil cruise on the main lagoon of the Arafura Swamp followed by a 4WD adventure around its edge, accompanied by Indigenous guides. The tour splits into two groups undertaking the day's activities in reverse order.

  5. Day 5overnight: 2 nights Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge

    Visit Bula'bula Art Centre in Ramingining, then cross the Blyth and Cadell Rivers to Barramundi Lodge, a leading fishing destination with exclusive licenses on the Tomkinson and Liverpool Rivers.

    Fishing Adventure and Cultural Tour

    Exclusive Barramundi fishing adventure on the Liverpool and Tomkinson Rivers aboard Ocean Master vessels. Afternoon visit to the Maningrida Arts and Cultural Centre and the Djomi Museum.

    Travel through the stone country of west Arnhem Land, crossing the Goomadeer and Liverpool Rivers, to Davidson's Arnhem Land Safaris at Mount Borradaile. Afternoon introduction to 40,000 years of Aboriginal culture and rock art galleries.

    Mount Borradaile

    Explore the ancient 'catacombs', a cave system eroded over 600 million years, rich with Aboriginal rock art. Afternoon exploring the wetlands of Cooper Creek, spotting birdlife and crocodiles.

  9. Day 9overnight: 3 nights Seven Spirit Bay Wilderness Lodge

    Cobourg Peninsula to Seven Spirit Bay

    Travel into Garig Gunak Barlu National Park on the Cobourg Peninsula, transferring by adventure craft across Port Essington to Seven Spirit Bay Wilderness Lodge, a luxury 'habitat' overlooking Coral Bay.

  10. Day 10

    Port Essington and the Historic Victoria Settlement

    Marine adventure down Port Essington aboard the lodge's vessel 'MV Arafura' to the historic Victoria Settlement (surveyed 1838), followed by a picnic lunch on the beach and a cruise back through the Cobourg Marine Park.

  11. Day 11

    Trepang Bay Marine and 4WD Adventure

    Half-day exclusive fishing adventure in Port Essington aboard state-of-the-art fishing vessels, followed by a BBQ bush lunch and a 4WD safari through Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, including the Nypa Palm gallery and Gunners Quoin lookout.

  12. Day 12overnight: 1 night Hilton Garden Inn Darwin

    Farewell to Seven Spirit Bay

    Scenic Cessna Grand Caravan flight across Van Diemen Gulf to Darwin. Afternoon at leisure before a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Charles Darwin.

    Board The Ghan Expedition in Darwin

    Check in for the journey aboard The Ghan Expedition, relaxing in the cabin or the Outback Explorer Lounge. Lunch on board ahead of an Off Train Experience in Katherine, exploring Nitmiluk Gorge.

  14. Day 14railovernight: 1 night DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs

    Arrival into Alice Springs after breakfast, with a choice of Off Train Experiences including the Alice Springs Desert Park and Reptile Centre, Simpsons Gap, or the historic Telegraph Station. Evening dining under the stars at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station.

  15. Day 15overnight: 1 night DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs

    Start of the 5-night Red Centre touring with Outback Spirit. Afternoon tour of Alice Springs including Anzac Hill, then dinner at the hotel.

  16. Day 16overnight: 2 nights Kings Canyon Resort

    Alice Springs to Kings Canyon

    Travel the Mereenie Loop through the Western MacDonnell Ranges, visiting Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge, before arriving at Kings Canyon.

  17. Day 17

    Kings Canyon – Watarrka National Park

    Choice of walks at Kings Canyon: the 6-kilometre rim walk or the 2.6-kilometre canyon floor walk. Optional 15-minute helicopter flight over Kings Canyon and Watarrka National Park in the afternoon (additional cost, weight limits apply).

  18. Day 18overnight: 2 nights Sails in the Desert Hotel

    Kings Canyon to Uluru

    Via Kings Creek Station and a lunch stop at Curtin Springs, arriving at Uluru. Evening 'Sounds of Silence' dining experience under the stars with a bush tucker-inspired meal.

  19. Day 19

    Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park

    Optional sunrise over Uluru, then a guided walk into Walpa Gorge at Kata Tjuta and a guided base tour of Uluru learning traditional Anangu culture. Evening viewing of Bruce Munro's 'Field of Light' installation from a dune-top location.

  20. Day 20overnight: 1 night DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs

    Uluru to Alice Springs

    Pause at Mount Conner, the third desert giant, en route back to Alice Springs.

  21. Day 21overnight: 2 nights The Ghan Expedition

    The Ghan Expedition, Alice Springs

    Free day in Alice Springs before rejoining The Ghan Expedition. Evening dining experience under the stars at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station.

  22. Day 22

    The Ghan Expedition, Coober Pedy

    Morning stop at Manguri, then a day exploring the opal mining township of Coober Pedy, including a lunch served underground.

    The Ghan Expedition, Adelaide

    The rich ochre tones of the outback give way to the green fields of South Australia. Leisurely brunch passing through the Flinders Ranges before arrival into Adelaide, completing one of the world's great rail journeys.
