    Free morning along La Croisette or in Le Suquet old town, then a train across the Italian border to Ventimiglia and along the Ligurian Coast via Genoa to Sestri Levante.

  3. Day 3railovernight: Amalfi

    Sestri Levante to Amalfi

    Free morning in Sestri Levante, then a direct train to Rome and on to Salerno, where a transfer takes you to the Amalfi Coast for a 5-night stay. Optional extra nights in Sestri Levante for the Cinque Terre.

  4. Day 4overnight: Amalfi

    Amalfi Coast

    Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Amalfi Coast by boat or on hiking trails, from Salerno to Positano.

  5. Day 5overnight: Amalfi

    Amalfi Coast

    Free day on the Amalfi Coast, with time to explore Amalfi's historic centre and local shops.

  6. Day 6overnight: Amalfi

    Further free time to explore the coastline, including the islands of Ischia and Capri.

  7. Day 7overnight: Amalfi

    Final free day based in Amalfi before departure.

    Amalfi to Bologna

    Private transfer to Naples Centrale station, then a train up through Italy to Bologna, a medieval city with distinctive Renaissance towers.

  9. Day 9railovernight: Munich

    Bologna to Munich

    Train bound for Munich via the Brenner Pass in the Italian and Austrian Tyrol, crossing into Bavaria.

  10. Day 10

    Munich to London

    Homeward journey via Mannheim and Paris, arriving back into London in the evening.
